13 Things I Need to Do Before Christmas

1) Exercise – I seriously need to get up off my computer-chair-shaped behind and go walking.

2) Cook – It’s been too long since I’ve fed my husband a home-cooked meal.

3) Clean – The bedrooms are disaster areas. My husband cleaned the kitchen and living room while I was away on retreat, and I really should tackle the rest of the house.

4) Sew – I’ve outgrown most of my clothes, and I’ve got plenty of fabric and patterns to work with. I also should get started making quilts for Christmas gifts.

5) Balance the checkbook. Yeah, it’s been a while.

6) Finish reading the books I’ve started. I’m currently reading Beth Moore’s “Breaking Free” and David Bordon’s “Discover the Power in the Prayers of Paul.”

7) Get in the habit of going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. I definitely need my beauty sleep. I’m starting to look my age!

8) Lose some weight. I’ve put on 20 pounds in the past 2 years. I’d love to be able to wear my clothes comfortably. I would still make new ones, and I’d have some fabric left over for quilts.

9) Declutter closets. We have way more stuff than we need.

10) Donate items to the Salvation Army.

11) Get the garage ready for conversion to a den.

12) TIRL with some of my bloggy friends, like Barb and Kelli.

13) Write letters to friends in Arkansas who aren’t web-enabled.

I need to make a list like this but it would be hard to keep it down to thirteen things. I don’t think thirteen would handle all the things I need to do. I’ll just list them here. OK, maybe not.

The rest of this week is nuts. And of course Bev and her husband will be here next week. Big big 🙂

So the week after that, we will TIRL. I can’t wait.

Meantime, twenty pounds is doable. Hard, but doable. It’s a shame it’s not as easy to lose it as it was to gain it. That’s just not right.

I didn’t realize you followed Kelli, too. I just love her.

It’s funny but spring and autumn are the two time of the year when I get the uncontrollable urge to tear this place apart and get things cleaned up and organized and back in order. I’ve always been that way. Spring fever AND autumn fever. I’ve never, however, been much for new year’s resolutions. I disappoint myself too much when I make resolutions.

Yeah, I’m weird. But you apparently are, too. I like that. A lot. xoxoxo

I relate to SO MANY of those! Unbelievable. But I’ll never forget when I went to a retreat and came home to find that my sweet hubby had cleaned – that meant he got rid of all my piles – I knew what was in them and what needed to be done with them. Now I couldn’t find anything! Sweet, but please don’t do again! The weight thing – ARRGGGHHH!! Nothing fits. NOTHING!!

Breaking Free is a tough one, very deep. I did that study a few years ago. Learned a lot.

  4. Mommy Dearest

The TIRLing sounds cool – let us know how it goes! I am so impressed that you quilt, and well enough to make gifts. My daughter is learning to quilt. Tomorrow we were supposed to meet with the lady who is teaching us, but we have a conflict.

  5. Blessed Beyond Measure

This was such a good idea, just put your to do list out there. Somehow I also missed that you sew and quilt. How did I miss that? Good grief, I need to pay more attention.

  6. Praying for your Prodigal

What a brave girl you really are…making a list…and publishing it! As I sit in my disorganized bedroom, I too, could start right here…..Clean and sort through the piles of clothes I have outgrown…but think will magically fit me again one morning when I rise! Ha! Maybe it really is time for a trip to Salvation Army clothes box!

I think I may be feeling motivated…..by YOUR list…..so if you don’t mind–I’ll just work off of your list! My list is too scarey!
